you opened ChatGPT, it wrote something bland, and you went back to doing it by hand. That is a briefing problem, not an intelligence problem. This is 10 Claude and Codex skills that fix it.

most of the fix is order and evidence. Anthropic traced one wasted research run to the four-word brief "research the semiconductor shortage": the agents chased the wrong crisis and duplicated each other's work. So the briefing skill fills ten slots in a fixed order, and it puts your documents at the top with the question underneath them at the bottom, which Anthropic measures as worth up to 30 percent better answers on anything long.

- ask a long document the question you actually have

the checking is the part everybody skips. the fact-checker splits a draft into one claim per line and gives each a single verdict: verified, unsupported, contradicted, or uncheckable. anything with no word-for-word quote behind it is deleted and the hole marked with empty brackets, because a visible gap beats a confident sentence. a link that loads is not support either, since the page still has to contain the line. the tone skill applies the same discipline to style, using the catalogue Wikipedia's own editors police AI text with: delve, tapestry, testament, underscore, pivotal, nestled, meticulous, and the "not just X, but Y" shape.
