The advert to the end of week one. Pay in the advert, sixty applications down to five, the checks on file before day one.
The rules inside
Public information only. No guessed email addresses. Anything sent in someone’s name says whose name it is. Built for small teams and founders, and they are the rules I use myself.

10 skills for the hiring you dread. all 10 free, nothing to sign up for ↓ the rota gap is never the real problem. The real problem is the advert nobody answered, the sixty applications you never got through, and the one you took on because the shift was tonight. This is 10 Claude and Codex skills for the advert to the end of week one. they run on the published rules rather than on opinion. from April 2026 the minimum wage is £12.71 an hour at 21 and over, £10.85 at 18 to 20 and £8.00 under 18, and tips never count towards any of it. Reed reports that adverts carrying a pay figure draw 27% more applications. a trial shift longer than a day is almost always paid work, and an unpaid one can be recovered with a penalty of up to 200% of the arrears, capped at £20,000 a worker, plus public naming. the right to work check starts at £45,000 a worker for a first breach, share codes expire after 90 days, and from 1 October 2026 the duty reaches past employees to casual cover, individual subcontractors and agency arrangements. what they get you: - write an advert with the pay in it that the right person answers - get sixty applications down to a shortlist you can defend, in one evening - ask every candidate the same questions, and know what a good answer sounds like - run a trial shift that tells you something, paid the way the law expects - do the Right to Work check properly and have it on file before day one - send the offer and the written particulars they must have before their first shift - plan day one to day five so they are useful by Friday - reach a probation decision you can put in writing - find out what the job really pays in your town, and what you must pay by law - get the handover out of a leaver before they walk half of them think it through in Claude, half get it done in Codex. one folder each. a minute to install. all ten refuse to guess. no invented pay rate. no shortlist score without a line from the application sitting under it. no probation reason nobody raised at the time. no training or right to work box ticked in advance, because a pre-ticked record is worse in front of an inspector than an empty one. a missing figure stays a marked hole with a name and a date against it, since a guessed holiday balance turns into a real underpayment on a real payslip. no HR system to buy, no agency fee, no template pack to pay for. you keep hiring your way — these just stop the parts that cost you a month. 10 skills. one complete system. and I'm giving the entire thing away for free public information only, nothing invented. anything touching pay, contracts or employment law prepares the work for your accountant or solicitor to check. it never pretends to be the advice. Comment "HIRE" and I'll send you the whole pack. (and connect if we aren't yet — the DM won't go through otherwise) #Hiring #Hospitality #SmallBusiness
