10 skills for filling the room on a night that would otherwise be dead.

every owner has run a night that lost money and never worked out why, and most have run a quiz without knowing it can legally be a lottery. an event is the fastest way to fill a Tuesday and the easiest way to breach something you did not know applied to you. this is 10 Claude and Codex skills for both halves.

what they get you:

- pick the night that will actually sell, not the one you fancy
- price a ticket so the night pays for itself before anyone walks in
- a running order the team can follow without you in the room
- brief the band, the DJ and the entertainer so nobody argues on the night
- know what you need before you sell a single ticket
- three weeks of promotion written in an hour, so the night is not empty
- refunds, transfers and cancellations agreed in writing before you sell
- how many people you may have in, and the evidence you were right
- what the night actually earned, and whether to run it again
- turn one good night into the list that fills the next one

the licence one is the one that saves people. a Temporary Event Notice has a notice period and annual limits per premises and per person. the Live Music Act deregulated some live and recorded music, but only inside an audience number and a time window. and section 14 of the Gambling Act 2005 is where a quiz night with a cash prize and an entry fee quietly becomes a lottery. none of that is obscure, it is just never in one place.

the ticket terms one settles a question owners get wrong both ways. regulation 28 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 disapplies the 14 day cancellation right for a leisure service supplied on a specified date. so your ticket buyer does not automatically get fourteen days to change their mind, and your terms still have to be fair under the Consumer Rights Act. one of those facts saves you money and the other stops you writing a term a court would strike out.

on Martyn's Law: it is real, the 200 and 800 thresholds are in the Act, and it is not in force. GOV.UK's own guidance says it is expected in spring 2027. the pack treats it as a date to prepare for and forbids any file describing it as a duty you owe today.

half of them think it through in Claude, half get it done in Codex. one folder each. a minute to install.

no ticketing platform's terms copied off another venue, no promoter taking a cut, no agency retainer.

10 skills. one complete system.

public information only, nothing invented. nothing in the pack sells a ticket, books an act or submits a notice. anything touching licensing, fire safety or consumer law prepares the work for your licensing officer, your fire risk assessor or your solicitor to check. it never pretends to be the advice.

Comment "EVENTS" and I'll send you the whole pack.
